Runway: Chanel Fall 2011 Couture

July 6, 2011

Clothes fit for the set of Bladerunner x Tron x any film noir would be the perfect description of the latest couture collection from Karl Lagerfeld.  Iconic Chanel tweed in grays and blacks were interspersed with pops of bright pink and white.

Leather and satin over-the-knee boots covered in chiffon and tulle were in perfect Coco Chanel fashion, who apparently thought knees were the ugliest part of the female anatomy.  (I don’t disagree.)

Sequined and feathered peplum over long, narrow skirts finished the show with elegance, even though the silhouette can be tricky.

While I pray and hope don’t think many women will be donning the lace eye mask any time soon, you can bet your bum that headlight heels will be the next big thing.
