Runway: Christian Dior Couture Fall 2011

July 5, 2011

As if losing John Galliano to drugs, alcohol and a potty mouth weren’t bad enough, now the fashion house has to live with THIS.

Bill Gaytten finally got his chance…with Galliano gone, the once-underling now had his opportunity to put his ideas into production.  And it couldn’t have been more disappointing.  Not to mention a little weird.

From giant hats in the shape of…well, shapes to bat-winged pleated hostess dresses, the collection just seemed like a last-ditch effort to prove that Dior doesn’t need Galliano.  The message the collection really sent?  DIOR NEEDS GALLIANO.

But then, again, you just never know when the Jack-in-the-box look might become the next big thing…
