Runway: Stella McCartney Resort 2012
What stands out about Stella McCartney’s Resort 2012 collection? Well besides the impressive beach prints and primary colored (well, minus orange, obviously) stripes, the fact that each piece is a stand-out on its own sets this collection apart.
Keeping with the menswear-inspired theme (tailored jackets and cuffed cigarette pants) the obvious stand-out piece of the collection (and my personal favorite): the Hawaiian print top, which seems to have been pulled straight out of my dad’s closet off the tourist-laden streets of Honolulu.
And I think it goes without saying that coming in a close second place is the ankle-length short-sleeve muu-muu. Is there anything more comfortable in the summer heat than a muu-muu?? That question is rhetorical. Because obviously there is no better than feeling in the world in the summer humidity than having whatever cool breeze you can find make its way up to your hooha. Wow, TMI? Never. AND (this just keeps getting better) it has a COLLAR. Done.
So, my tubbies, feast your eyes on the glory that is Stella McCartney and, without having to say it (but I know you’re all thinking it so I’ll say it anyway), with her Resort 2012 collection, Stella got her groove back on.
