Annie Lennox Honored at the V&A Museum in London

September 15, 2011

In honor of the House of Annie Lennox exhibit being shown at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in London, I wanted to post some images of the iconic star.  Lennox’s success has spanned four decades and she is known for both her singing and her style.  The exhibit will feature photographs of the singer as well as costumes and accessories worn by Lennox throughout the years.  For a full rundown of the exhibit, visit the V&A website and if you’re in London anytime now to February 26, 2012, the exhibit is free to museum guests.

Anne Hathaway in Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 for ‘One Day’ Premiere

August 9, 2011

Anne Hathaway walked the red carpet at the New York premiere of her latest movie ‘One Day’ last night.  The movie, co-starring Jim Sturgess, most-notably features Anne speaking in a Scottish accent.  As usual, she looked the part of a starlet and fashionista in a beautiful number from Alexander McQueen’s Resort 2012 collection.  In fact, she’s the first (as far as we can tell) to don the iconic brand’s latest Resort line and it did not disappoint.  See all the photos below.

First Look: Rodarte x OC

August 9, 2011

They’re back!  Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte have offered up their second collection for Opening Ceremony (the first was for the Spring 2011 season) for Fall 2011.   The muted color palette and styling exude a very fairy tale-like feeling, but with a twist.  The collection is one part forest nymph, one part milkmaid goth.  With peek-a-boo shoulders, breezy silhouettes and intricate prints, this collection is a stunning head nod to Scandinavia.  Is it any surprise that a Rodarte x OC collection is a knockout?  No, not really.

For the full collection (including menswear), like Rodarte x OC on Facebook.

We Think This Is Paris Hilton in V Magazine…

August 9, 2011

There are few questions that need to be raised here?  First of all, who invited her back from wherever she had taken her hiatus?  Second, we hope her reality show got cancelled, right?  Finally, is it really her in this V Magazine shoot??  Paris looks nothing like herself in the latest photos from V Magazine’s newest shoot with the hotel heiress and reality TV star.  In fact, if it weren’t for the first picture (and for the blaring announcement that it IS in fact Paris), we would have whisked through the photos as if she were any old model (which she kind of is, right?).

My Take On…Teen Choice Awards 2011

August 8, 2011

There was a lot of great fashion last night at the Teen Choice Awards, but there were also, as expected, a good number of misses as well.  Let me kick my commentary off on a good note with the best of the brightest:

Ashley Benson , Blake Lively (in Gucci dress, Lorrain Schwartz jewelry, Christian Louboutin heels), Demi Lovato (in BCBGMAXAZRIA dress and Louboutin heels), Elizabeth Banks (J. Mendel dress), Fergie (in Dolce & Gabbana dress), Shay Mitchell.

These ladies killed it in bright dresses, keeping with the young, fun theme of the Teen Choice Awards.  On the opposite end of the spectrum were the ladies in waiting white.

Rachel Bilson (in Chloe), Taylor Swift (in Rafael Cennamo), Ashley Greene (in Givenchy), Kaley Cuoco (in Rebecca Taylor).

Here are some other looks I loved from last night’s red carpet:

Selena Gomez in an Erin Fetherston dress.

Emma Stone in Dior.

Cameron Diaz in A.L.C. dress and Burakuyan shoes.

But, while these ladies struck gold…we can’t forget about our dear friends who didn’t quite hit the mark.  To start off the Teen Choice Awards Uggs is Tyra Banks, with whom I have a serious love-hate relationship.  (Love her show, always usually hate her clothes).

Cat Woman gets completed un-sexified in this Thierry Mugler jumpsuit.  There are so many things wrong with this, I might just have to list them.

1. The awful bat wings on the top of the bustier

2. Honey, your latex is bunching at your knees

3. Too long in the legs

4. The shoes, really do I even have to mention these?

5. She painted her toenails YELLOW TO MATCH THE OUTFIT (excuse me while I go vomit)

6. Girl looks like she was caught in a torrential downpour on the way to the carpet her hair is so fug

Next up, and this pains me to say, but Zooey Deschanel in head-to-toe Miu Miu:

I have a weak heart for the glitter pumps but the dress makes her look like she’s got a big old mom ass.  Ugh, Zooey, please do better next time! I do love you so!

Last, but certainly not least ugliest, is Alexis Vega.

Ok, first let me just say, I don’t think this dress is ugly.  In fact, I would wear this dress.  It just strikes me as a little inapprops for a program aimed at teens and younger…Thankfully her cleavage is less vulgar than it could have been, but still.  The deep V is SO deep that we can practically see her vajay.  Maybe nip that puppy shut (not her vajay, the dress) right under the cleavage with some chain detailing and it would be one of my favorites of the night.

September Issue Cover Girl Gwenyth Paltrow for Elle

August 8, 2011

Gwenyth Paltrow is a foxy lady for more reasons that her looks: she’s a devoted wife and mother, a Glee guest star and a (soon-to-be solo??) singer.  Her Elle cover for the September 2011 issue is stunning as expected and the interview is as down-to-earth as it gets (in Hollywood at least).
